Today, many of us get movie rentals at least a few times a month. Normally they wait for the DVD to come out, in preference to seeing the film at the cinema. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: The Indiana Jones adventure continues, after a 19 year break. This is the fourth movie of the exploits of the infamous Indiana Jones. In this episode an older Indiana battles the Soviets. This time, it's off top the amazone to search for ancient relics called the Crystal Skulls, which are thought to have secret powers.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: One time crook Ben Garvey has turned the corner. With a loving family, and steady paycheck, he has found happiness. Then, he is fired from work, and he finds himself heading back into the criminal world. His criminal rebirth is a complete bust, and he is sentenced to death. Death by lethal injection awaits. To his surprise, he now finds himself in a psychiatric ward. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Eventually, his past is about to catch up with him. He grew up in a viscious L.A. gang, but he had the courage to leave. When an unfortunate meeting shows where he lives to a member of his old gang, he finds himself in grave danger. He nust put it all on the line, and ensure that the gang can get a huge illegal drug delivery across the border.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the story of Military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, as been changed into the Incredible Hulk. The movie is a story about the comic character the Hulk. Actors Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler play key roles in this film. Louis Leterrier directs this film. This movie would be classified as a science fiction film.
DECEPTION: Audiitor for the elite, Jonathan McQuarry has a surprising meeting with corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that sends his life in a whole new direction. He is exposed to "The List", which puts you in front of access to a sexual indulgance. But, he is driven into a scene full of deceipt, underhandidness and murder.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a mission to discover what happened to his lost brother, professor Trevor Anderson sets out on a journey that leads him to the center of the earth. This is a newer edition of the original 1959 movie, which was about the science fiction book by Jules Verne. This sci-fi adventure stars Brendan Fraser, and Anita Briem.
THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberb), with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are all fleeing Philadelphia on a train. Their city has been thrown into chaos. People have been overwhelmed by an unusual force, and are taking their own lives. Can we solve this dilemma, or is this the last stand of humans on Earth?
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark is attacked and taken by Afghan insurgents. He is ordered to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries when he was abducted, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To save his life from this injury, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, gets real actors. Much like the film The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon to a movie with an actual cast. Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that had cost his brother his life. With odds against him, and risking it all, he partners up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, so the family business won't go under.
